leg room 30 roadster
 

hello my car could not be all original the bottom steering wheel to seat is only 6" the distance fr upper front edge of seat is 26" to a depressed clutch pedal. i put the seat platform[ called riser?] where prior holes were found. does the 6" seem too short and the 26" seem too long to you?

if so what modification should i make to correct? i made a side view sketch and attached it below

Can you post a few pictures? The 26" measurement from the floorboard is about right, but when I see the 4" measurement from the top of cushion to the bottom of the steering wheel, that tells me the seat cover was installed incorrectly. Again, pictures will give me a visual where I can confirm. Also, if the cushion was overstuffed, then likely the backrest was done likewise which can severely cramp your cabin space.

1. y-blockhead i ve got to remeasure withe pedal not depressed--a great diagram never saw it before but i am an amateur
2. brent the distance from the seat to bottom of steering wheel at 6"--the seat is just spring set no covering yet but i will get a pix out
3.planojc i m surprised that the steering wheel being in drivers lap is common

People were much shorter and no where near as overweight as many are these days so what might appear to be cramped to us was quite roomy for them.

I have a friend that is a pilot and he has collected sign in records of local airports. The pilot had to sign in the log book with his name, weight, height, and destination so the airport would know how many passengers he could haul. He said the average weight of the pilots back in the 30's was 150-160. That's a big difference from what we see now and explains some of the designs that we wonder about.

thanks to ayers and synchro i foolishly did a lot of my judgement on my 2019 honda
