Window glass

Hello,

I recently purchased a 1931 Ford Model A truck (less bed, see my other post) and I am wondering about the glass.

It seems like there is quite a bit of information regarding everything about the Model A, so I'll ask...is there any dimensions for window glass I could give my local glass cutter for them to cut the glass to shape?

I would like to make a template of all four pieces to hand to the glass cutter.

Thanks in advance

Re: Window glass

The best and most accurate way is to bring the old glass to a glass shop and have them cut it the same way. You can not go wrong this way.

The trouble is I believe this Model A truck was pulled out of a field from somewhere without the glass attached.

I was hoping to have some patterns to provide the shop with and save some time and money as the shop may charge to create patterns themselves to be able to cut the glass.

The attached chart might help, but bear in mind it was published in 1928 and some dimensions may be different for 1931, depending on your model ( I know for sure Coupes are). Another alternative is to order from Sanders Reproduction Glass and you will know it is correct.

I was in Bert's Model A a week ago and someone called about glass dimensions while I was standing around. Steve got a book off the book shelf and handed it to Tim who was on the phone answering the question about the glass sizes. So, the point is, call Bert's and find out what the book was or ask them what the sizes are.

Interesting that someone else was looking for the same information. Small world of course.
