Brake cross shaft assembly

How much play is acceptable on the brake cross shaft assembly. I have a 1936 pick up. Thanks

Ideally you want absolutely none. If you detect movement in yours, get it rebuilt. All slop/slack in a mechanical brake system adds up to lotsa lost motion.

And a plan comes together. I don't have anything to contribute but I need nine posts to contribute. If that makes any sense. Thanks
