1936 ANTENNA-PLEASE HELP! Where can I find radio antenna for 1936Ford series 68 car?

New member asks- (thank you for your help)
what it the appropriate radio antenna for my 1936 ford series 68
4 door convertible?

Can you tell me where i can find one?

Also,
should the antenna be bolted on outside of car or should it go under the fender?

Also my interior door handles are chocolate brown. The door handle opener broke. Is brown correct for a 1936 ford series 68? Or should they be chrome or stainless steel?

Do you kn0w where i can get the correct door handle set for my 1936 ford series 68 4 door convertible? Thank you very much.

You will probably have to make an aerial for a original radio for a 1936 Ford as per photo. I had to make one for my original radio for my 1932 V8 and it works well on F.M. stations too.

just worked on a 35 3 window coupe and the antennae lead went to the chicken wire in the padded soft top-is this correct or had someone done this in the past, car showed no signs of ever having a radio

I did not know that Ford offered an FM radio option in 1936. I'll bet it's a pretty rare option.

Armstrong first demonstrated FM radio in 1935, but it wasn't until the 1960s that the technology began to make an impact on the broadcasting industry.

One of the earliest and most influential FM radio stations was WNEW-FM in New York City. WNEW-FM was launched in 1958 as a classical music station, but its format quickly evolved to include jazz and other genres. By the 1960s, WNEW-FM had become one of the most popular and dominant stations in the New York City area, featuring well-known DJs like Alison Steele and Scott Muni.

Your car, If original, has the antenna lead in the widdshield post on the LH side of the driver. It should be connected to the soft top wire insert. The original radio connects there. There is also a spare tire antenna cable sold by several of the suppliers.

With trunk ? There was a reproduction running board antenna available in the past.
Otherwise the spare tire mount was insulated and the bracket and rim was the antenna
The lead in wire fo spare tire mount can be used for the running board antenna connections
Tyre Harris wiring made a reproduction spare tire lead in wire that can be used, some universal exhaust hangers and tubing—- and remember to adjust the trimming capacitor on the radio

As I recall the Delux 35-36 Fords closed cars were wired at the factory for radio's.
My 36 is a Delux with factory radio, the antenna is hooked to the chicken wire in the roof, It also has a lead coming down the 'A' pillar for a cowl mounted whip antenna.

You can buy F.M adaptors these days to change the old radios from AM to FM but they have to be set up by a radio technician.
