Fuel gas tank sender. Hi Guys. I believe I need a new fuel sender. Who makes a good one. I have a 55 Victoria converted to 12v.

Re: Fuel gas tank sender. Start here. How your car was converted to 12 volts (voltage drop unit or 56 gauge and sender) may play into this, I’m not sure. But it’s a start.

Re: Fuel gas tank sender. What fuel gauge and sensor are in the car now? Original parts, or...?
Was a gauge voltage regulator added, or any resistors? The originals are a matched pair. If you change the sensor to a newer 'replacement' part the gauge often needs to be changed to match. Have you tried any trouble-shooting tests yet? |
Re: Fuel gas tank sender. Thanks for the information. I will check it out.

you can use your old sender if you are using your old guage (matched), you just need to add the voltage reducer to the rear of your instrument panel, which I believe most ford do already its a little can like this
If you changed the gauge you have to match the ohms of the sender to the gauge. If you have the little box on the back of your panel, run the 12v to it and check the other side. I digress, this would be a '57 and newer thing, if you car was 6V before, you can get one of these and add. and be done with this issue. something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/17560401630...mis&media=COPY |
