A jailbar woodie on Bring a Trailer

It's quite the thing of beauty and far more sophisticated than mine, not to mention 4wd. Certainly a bargain the way things are going. Woodies are definately on the way out moneywise as the 'hang ten generation' hangs up their varnish brush.

That is very nice. They did a good job keeping it vintage looking except for the dash board.

Looks nice on the outside but I don't recognize the contraption under the hood? Some kind of space machine?

Seth,

Pretty sure it is from a riding lawn mower. Maybe a vintage Wheel Horse?

Hard to see in this photo, but from what I've heard, the recoil start is mounted on the snout of the camshaft where the distributor is supposed to be. Probably why it has so few miles on it.

A ton of work went in to that thing.....it’ll be interesting to see what it finally goes for......I’m up in the air on the 4WD.....although I like old JEEPS.....Mark

I wouldn't buy it just based on the one photograph of the phillips screws holding the data tag to the fire wall. That's enough right there to set me on my heels, but thats just me.

The overspray on the engine is surprising and disappointing. Just leaves one shaking their head and walking away.

You guys are too fussy! They were not building a 100 point car, just a nice looking driver.
I would drive the heck out of it...after I put a stock dash in!

Yeah, the front wheel location is quite fubared. They needed to stretch the frame a bit.

Also, I'm surely not a big fan of an early Jeep Wagoneer chassis and drive-train . . . there would have been quite a few other choices in my mind. BUT, when this thing was built - that was probably a good option.

Yes, the front axle needs to move about 2" forward to center in wheel opening. . A lot involved in that move, particularly since it's 4wd. Whoever did this work had good skills and an engineering type of brain, so there was probably a pretty good reason the axle and fender have some missalignment. Looks like somebody liked it enough to pay 49,000.00 to buy it.

One easy improvement would be to lose the whitewalls - it's a 4x4 truck!

In 54 years of owning vehicles, I have never owned a whitewall tire. I once bought a nice diesel 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban that had raised white outline tires. Before I got on the ferry for home I bought a can of flat black and a roll of tape and rattle canned the sidewalls in home depot parking lot. The tires pictured aren't for everyone, but four of these 7.50 x 16s on that thing would change up the entire thing. And I came up with how to fix the wheelbase. With the new bigger diameter tires fitted, scribe a fair curve down the rear of the front wheel opening. If it's too hard to roll a bead after that, I'd weld a piece of EMT in there to simulate it.

Gosh, I missed the front wheel being out of place, that is poor planing.

Nice looking rig mh merc shows in his avatar!
