Not long ago there was a post and some one mentioned a special grease that could be used when assembling the spring. I can't seam to find it now. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Before I assemble the spring, I paint it with primer that I have loaded with powdered graphite. Once assembled, I then give it a coat of black. The graphite is a great lubricant and the paint holds it in place.

Springs should never be assembled with grease. It attracts dirt and dirt makes good grinding compound.

Slip plate is good.(graphite base)

Dry film Moly is twice as good. (Molybdenum disulfide base)

I used Slip plate also with spring covers (some call them gators) to keep dirt and water off springs.

Agree, that's why I use molybond 122L dry film lubricant.
