DeLuxe pickup 1 Attachment(s)
Many people dress up a standard 82-B pickup with extra chrome and cowl lights and call it DeLuxe but the only true DeLuxe pickup has the rails on the bed which looks like the bottom of a panel truck and ti's blended into the cab

Re: DeLuxe pickup Nice looking pickup. More photos please.

Re: DeLuxe pickup When I bought my pickup 14 years ago, it was advertised as a Deluxe Pickup. NOT! I got the guy to take the ad down, along with a considerable price reduction from his original asking price, then I bought it.

Re: DeLuxe pickup Brent: WOW......Never saw a Deluxe Roadster Pickup, Nice!!!!

Re: DeLuxe pickup No such thing as a Model A Roadster Pickup. Ford called them Open Cab Pickups.
400-A Convertible Sedan not A400 |

Re: DeLuxe pickup We are trying to correct some in the next revision of the RG&JS. One interesting one is Firewall, Ford called it the Dash Assembly. That one we did not change because it would cause too much confusion with the Front Belt Rail Finish Panel (Dash Rail) or the Instrument Panel.

Re: DeLuxe pickup Brent that's a beautiful truck but I don't think it's an actual DeLuxe pickup. Where the bed attaches to the cab isn't genuine

Re: DeLuxe pickup This was probably a truck that the late R.T. McDaniel built back in the mid to late 1980’s. I seem to recall him having referred to it as a “Ute” and referencing that these would have most likely only been produced in Australia in an open cab format ...

Re: DeLuxe pickup RT’s trucks had all the rail fittings and were NEVER that color. Albeit lots of parts were made …but replicated!well. He also referred to them as flower wagons.
Did some work for him eons ago. Had some nice and rare A’s. |

Hey Bob, ironically I had this very conversation over 5 years ago. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230432 My suggestion would be to use this type of verbiage whether it might seem confusing or not; The Ignition Coil is attached to the Dash (sometimes erroneously referred to as firewall) with Cadmium-plated Screws. To me it would be even more confusing if only part of the RG&JS book's incorrect nomenclature was corrected. Then place a separate page listing all the proper nomenclature words such as; 'A' Pillar = Coupe Pillar 'B' Pillar = Quarter Lock Pillar Brake Housing Plate = Backing Plate Dash = Firewall - et/all - Because the Stds has largely been researched using Ford Engineer's Prints as the foundation for the book's printed information, it only seems proper that Ford's printed nomenclature should be used in the RG&JS book. |
Re: DeLuxe pickup 1 Attachment(s)
Here's one from the web. I see it has a designation,"66A". they started anew instead of going,"86C"
