Tea cup tail light on drum mount

I have an early 29 Tudor Sedan, it has a single drum tail light mounted on a stand off (round steel).
Its mounted to the body just inboard of the fender. I want to add another tail light to the passenger side. Drum style appear to be hard to find.
Can I mount a Tea Cup style on my existing body mount? I dont want to mount on the fender

The "tuna can" tail lights aren't that hard to find and parts suppliers sell reproduction

So far the retailers are "out of stock," one stated he has not seen one in four years.

LOTS of teacups on Ebay. Stainless, black, special lens - all sorts of variants. Dern cheap too, many of them.

A couple of drums. Pricey - which IMHO is not justified except by the apparent current lack of production.

Wait around - the marketplace will probably figure this out.

For a while I was trying to assemble the complete set of five "The Impoverished Radio Experimenter" series of books, a run which was printed by Lindsay Publications back when they were in business.

The buyer of Lindsay's stock sold off what he had for small money. Four of the five books for less than $20. But - no availability of the elusive volume 2.

The marketplace quickly caught on to the shortage. Volume 2 appeared on Ebay at $254, then $89, then $45, then (now) about $21.

I'm still not ready to buy.

Meanwhile, perhaps best to "cobble something together." Maybe even buy a pair of "something plastic/cheap" - even cheaper than teacups - and use those until what you want shows up at a price you're willing to spend.

Edit: IIRC I believe I bought my drum at A&L. Of course their presence is "challenged" these days - I've watched the discussion of "how to contact" with interest. BUT someone here may be able to comment on their success - and perhaps a report on what they found?

Too many "providers" are being "challenged" these days. Model A Front springs was my last challenge with Travis Cook now taking himself out for a well deserved rest. I was fortunate to find an acceptable substitute from Ecklers.

Thats what I am thinking.......a tea cup may fit on the drum bracket for now....just wondering if anyone has tried.

It is not a direct fit, but you could make a small adapter plate like I did on my '28 roadster p/u 35 years ago.

IIRC, the center-center distance of the two studs don't line up with the holes. When I retroverted my March 29 pickup to drum I removed the later "curved" car attachment and replaced it with the (probably) original "straight" car attachment - which was found in the "map pocket" of my truck at the driver's shoulder.

Many features of the March 29 truck are "early" - like Type H headlights. There is some basis of the statement "Ford used up outmoded car parts on the Truck line." Although its not anything that has been formally tracked - and may not be possible given the "remote" assembly of many truck in particular (mine Somerville, MA)

Snyders is showing anything drum as "Out of Stock."

I think A&L provided Snyders with their stock.

Have you put an add here on the Barn? Many people who aren't into Model "A"s still have the odd part hanging around so list in all categories.

From memory, the bolt spacing where the light mounts to the stem is different, but I may be incorrect about this.

Re: Tea cup tail light on drum mount

Bill has been able to get me the drum lights, so it should work out.

Thank you to everyone who responded
