Intake manifold bolt loose
 

Today was working on model a 1930 and reving motor by hand with linkage and intake manifold bolt shot out on to floor. Now won’t screw back in to manifold any ideas how to fix. Or what caused this one bolt come out thanks in advance

Is it one of the 2 that holds the intake and exhaust manifolds together?

If so, improper torque, was missing a lock washer, or one of the manifolds has cracked.

Helicoil if the casting isn't cracked. If it broke off then the broken part will have to be removed.

Bolt is not broke it is one of the two bolds that hold intake onto exhaust manifold

These bolts have a tendency to become rusted in place. It's possible someone broke a bolt in the same place previously, drilled it out and/or rethreaded the hole poorly, and the new bolt was never tight enough to begin with. finally, it wiggled its way out and the threads are now permanently damaged. Removal and inspection of both manifolds should be made before deciding on possible repair.

If you do the helicoil, do not drill into the cavity of the exhaust manifold. It will leak. Do not ask me how I know.

Try a longer bolt, if there are threads at the bottom that grab the bolt take a nut , thread it on the bolt, take a hacksaw and almost cut through, tighten the bolt and the head will twist off, making a stud.
Actually once installed the bolt is not needed, I only resurfaced the exhaust manifold and have a little gap, NJ only has ethonal gasoline and the cooler intake manifold seems to help, my bolts are just tight enough to compress the lock washers slightly
