Re: corn head grease

Check with your local John Deere dealer, they have it in tubes for grease guns.

I had to get mine from Amazon. The local John Deere dealer had that deer in the headlights look when I asked about. I guess they cater more to the construction customer than the farmer here in SoCal.

I was unable in Germany to locate the stuff so I ordered a crate of 10 in UK.

John Deere in France has it.

Most of the folks at tractor supply won't know a bus driver from a screw driver.

Go to any farm machinery dealer that sells combines and they will have it. I got mine at an Agco dealer.

Tractor Supply has "Double 00 Spindle Grease", John Deere has the "Cornhead Grease"

Local John Deere farm supply is where I get my tubes. I've heard New Holland sells a similar product.

Here in New Jersey, John Deere is a lawn mower operation, there's hardly any farming.

Simply a polyurea “0” grease. Any ag dealer regardless of paint color on the lot may have it. Also, grease/oil dealers, etc…

Re: corn head grease

I've been using John Deere Corn Head Grease in my '35 Fords since 2013. Steering box, universal joint, and occasionally I'll pump a "slight amount" into the water pump fittings to keep a thin film of lube between the pump shaft and bushing type bearings. Personally, I only recommend using the John Deere corn head grease, since I have no experience using the other brands available, and know JD works very well.

Now... I found mine on Amazon as well... the John Deere Corn Head Grease that is. The John Deere dealer gave me that 'Deere in the headlights' look too... :) and they brought up an old guy (like me) to the counter that grinned and said... 'yes I've heard of that but we do not have any in stock'... it's been in my steering gear box for 18 months and is great. So my vote... Amazon.

“ Tempted to put it in the noisy transfer case in the foyota jalopy.” there used to be a 10- wheeler dump truck local here that the rears were so noisey he filled them with grease. He could really sneak around after…….Mark
