Cowl lights on 33 pickup? I seen some pictures of 1934 Ford pickups with cowl lights. Did they come with them or was it never an option? I like the look.

Re: Cowl lights on 33 pickup? not standard, maybe a deluxe dealer option or over-restored.

Never, TMK.
Here is one I found. These look like Model A's.I have seen '32 and 33-34's used .The '32 Deluxe panel delivery I believe had them. |
Re: Cowl lights on 33 pickup? If you like the look put them on.. it’s certainly period correct if not factory and likely an owner back then could have put them on if they needed the extra light.

Re: Cowl lights on 33 pickup? You would have to make some custom-made rubber mounting pads to compensate for the sharper angle of the cowl sides than on passenger cars. Without something to compensate for the angle difference, the lights would end up looking cross eyed. '32 cowl lamps with 3-window pads might work as the cowl angle on deluxe coupes is sharper than on the other '32 passenger cars and that is compensated for in the pads.
There are no reinforcement in the cowl for the lamps, unlike on passenger cars and commercial vehicles with their doors hinged at their rear sides. Or use Model A cowl lamps as in the photos above. |
