Battery Cable Routing for 34 2 Attachment(s)
My brake job has expanded into a replacement of the rotted out battery tray and cables on my Fordor. The ground strap was shot and also attached to one of the battery tray bolts which from what I read is not correct. The cable to the starter switch had been replaced at sometime with a non-appropriate red plastic sheaved one. Putting back together with replacement parts, I now am not sure what the proper cable routing should be. What I’ve read the ground should go to the Ujoint clamshell but is the picture below showing a correct routing? Similar question for the starter switch cable? There was a bracket on the old cable but it was loose and not attached to anything. Where does this attach?

Re: Battery Cable Routing for 34 One thing, Isee that that rear most screw retain ng the ftransmission cover is a long one and sticks through. It is supposed to be a short one,

Re: Battery Cable Routing for 34 The cap covering the U-joint should have an extra ear with a tapped hole that the ground attaches to with a bolt and lock washer. The ear should be where your ground cable is attached Upper left rear view. The insulated battery cable attaches to the foot start switch and runs over the top of the engine bell housing then down to the starter. There are two rubber insulated brackets, as you question, that hold the cable above the bell housing using the bolts that hold the transmission to the bellhousing.
