Holes in corner of rumble seat? 1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can explain the holes in the side of the rumble seat lid near the top corner? Attachment 527106 |
Re: Holes in corner of rumble seat? Trunk hinge journal. The trunk hinge is a pin that mounts on the body, and inserts into the holes in the lid.

Re: Holes in corner of rumble seat? Yep
Likely used to be a trunk lid |
Re: Holes in corner of rumble seat? Most lids had the provisions for either trunk or rumble applications. The door handle is an exception but it can be modified for either application.

Re: Holes in corner of rumble seat? Is it true that a cabriolet would have always come with a rumble seat? If so, would such a hinge mount still be there?
|
Re: Holes in corner of rumble seat? I think all deck lids were the same size and shape. This would include the Cabriolet. Everything else was unique. I think they used the scroll shaped door knob on the cabbies. The Cabriolet types with the top down would have made it a chore to open a rumble door but it would work with top up so I don't know if they went either way or not. Maybe some owners know more about that.

Yes, rumble seat was standard on cabriolet, sport coupe and deluxe roadster. |
