Model A/B Test Stand

I’ve searched and found some interesting ideas, but haven’t found any actual plans.

I like the stand that was shown from the Santa Anita A’s, I’m sure there are others.

Does anyone have any plans that show the measurements, materials etc.

Thanks

Some people just use the front end of an old Model A chassis.

This is the engine stand that is on the Santa Anita A's web page. All you need is an engine block to figure out the required dimensions.

This is what I made for an engine stand.

Those stands are beautiful. Nicely done. The only thing I would add is a dynamometer to measure the torque and thus horsepower.

Dyno may be a bit beyond the capabilities of your average shade-tree Model A mechanic...;)

It sure makes changing engines a lot easier.

I built this stand out of stuff I had around the shop. I did have to buy the casters and sheet metal for the gas tank. It started out as a quick and dirty something to run the engine for my Fine Points 31 Roadster but I sort of got carried away. I do enjoy doing this sort of stuff.

Summit racing has engine stand kits, I believe Harbor freight does also.
