Oil Pump Drive Gear Interchange Model A & B 1 Attachment(s)
Folks,
Is there a difference between these for the Model A & B? The different vendors have various descriptions. Some say specific Model A 1928-1931. Macs/Eklers has it listed as a 1928-34. There are two different part numbers listed. However, none of the vendors provide a measurement or specifications in order to differentiate. Model A 1928 - 1931 is A-6551 Model B 1932 - 1934 is B-6551 I suspect they are the same, just curious if someone can confirm. Thanks, FordBarn. Attachment 523726 |
Re: Oil Pump Drive Gear Interchange Model A & B The part number indicates some change but it was likely minor since the model B oil pump drive, oil pump, and camshaft superseded the model A parts for replacements as listed in the green bible parts catalog. The drive gear part is available in oversizes to accommodate for wear between the camshaft and the drive unit.

Re: Oil Pump Drive Gear Interchange Model A & B The Ford parts book shows B-6551 1928-34. I think all the parts with an A prefix
that were compatible with 1932 vehicles were changed to a B prefix. |
