1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood I think I asked this question a year or so ago but I am getting down to the crunch. The last thing to do to my 31 Standard Roadster is to install the new top. In preparation for this, I am installing new tack strips in the bows and fitting the bare assembly to the car before fitting the top. I suspect a previous owner has "hand crafted" a new wooden front top bow at some point before I bought the car in 1959. I think the wooden piece is too long as the brackets that hold the top to the windshield posts wont align with the posts without some extreme bending. It appears that the wooden bow is about 3/4 inch too long. Before I start modifying it, does anyone have, or know where I can get the correct dimensions for this piece? Thank you.

Re: 1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood Dealers may have one to measure or manufacturers of wood kits would have that information.

Re: 1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood According to Snyder's their supplier of Standard Model A top frames discontinued manufacture of the steel frames (for Standards) a few year ago and the supply of wood bows for these frames "dried up" a short time later. Ford Wood does not produce this item and has no info on it's specs. Top frames and bows for Deluxe Roadsters are available from many vendors but apparently not for Standards. Even measurements from an old one would help me. Otherwise, I will just have to start cutting and fitting the old bow that I have.

Re: 1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood Get the print of the bow from Ford. I think the part number is A-42055 Rib (top) No. 1
40-B Std. Link to Ford. https://www.thehenryford.org/collect...parts-drawings |
Re: 1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood Thanks everyone. It appears that front bow wood is the right length. I'll have to some "adjusting" to the brackets to see if I can get the top frame to fit to the windshield posts.

Re: 1931 Standard Roadster Top Bow wood Did a little work on the top frame today and turns out the front bow was homemade and was about 3/4" too long. Shortened that and made some adjustments to the brackets and everything is good. Thanks to everyone for their interest and help.
