Which Power valve I know this is a loaded question but after several searches here on the forum I came up empty. Asking the rebuilding experts, what power valve for a 94 do you recommend? I am at 500 ft. elevation and running a 59AB, so is 5.5 the correct PV? Thanks in advance.

Re: Which Power valve I would use a 5.5. I'm at 800'

Re: Which Power valve It's a good place to start. Not all engines respond the same to a certain power valve (economizer valve). I had the same problem with Holley 4-BBL on my Corvette (the power valves are almost identical to those in a 94 and work the same way). I drove around for a couple of weeks with the hood cracked and a quality vacuum gauge taped to the windshield wiper and swapped power valves until I found a combination that I liked. I think I ended up with a 6.5.
The number on the PV is the vacuum below which it is supposed to open to enrichen the mixture. I have found that many PV's these days are not marked (at least I can't find 'em). |
Re: Which Power valve I agree with tubman. I would use a 6.5, escpecially with a mild or stock cam.
I believe that's what charlie ny uses, and he's the best with Holley 94's. Sal |
Re: Which Power valve Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Which Power valve Talk to Charlie ny/Charlie Schwendler. He is a great source of information for your needs on these type carburetors. Unfortunately, he has been band from posting on this website.
