29 roadster seat measurements

Hi Fordbarn.
I have a 29 roadster that have a very bad seat and back inside. I have all the material for new seats both back and the actual seat.
But, I'm missing all the woods inside for the back to rest against.
I will order the correct wood parts but that will take time so I want to make some of some other woods for now before the vehicle registration.
Does anyone have some drawings for these wood parts?

Thanks in advance!
Andy

I have a ‘29 Roadster, I’ll check later this afternoon in a couple of hours when it cools down; however, I don’t believe roadsters have any wood on the seat or the back springs. Others can correct me if I’m wrong, but the seat spring rests on the riser whereas the back spring rests against the wood that is tied into the car.

Thanks David.
I meant this riser as you saying.
I'm missing that and I need something to hold The back rest in place just for temporary during The vehicle registration period.
So just some rough measurements is needed.

Thanks again!

Here's a picture (Brookville) of everything that the seat springs rest on and attach to if it helps at all:

It helps Randy. Thanks a lot!
I will try to fix something up. Right now I have nothing behind the backrest so anything is better.

Randy- can you measure the board that goes across the center of the seat riser from left to right and supports the lower cushion? thanks in advance!

Dan - on an original seat base the board measures 36-1/8" on the front edge and 36-3/4" on the rear. Assume that Brookville would be something similar.

Thanks Randy! I guess I was not too clear on my request- can you danmeasure the width and thickness of the board? I need to make one for my roadster project.

Don't recall ever seeing an original, but repo's I've seen are 3" wide X 3/4" thick.

My Roadster was restored in the 1990’s and it’s also 3” x 3/4” thick. It rests on brackets at each end and is secured by wood screws. Not sure if it’s original either.

Re: 29 roadster seat measurements

Thanks Guys- a friend found an original roadster seat riser in a parts pile and measured the brackets for me. The above info will let me move ahead with this. Seems lots of cars have had that board replaced with a plywood seat bottom.... I've asked several roadster owners and the reply was "what board ? ".
