1932 shock arms

Are the front and back shock arms on a 1932 Model B the same or are they different in length and look? The car I am restoring no longer had shock arms. I did a long search this morning and did not find a definitive answer.

Yes fronts and rears are completely different. Suggest you purchase the V8 Ford Club of America '32 Book ,a worthwhile investment.

From the book cited in #2 above.. The upper shock arm in the photo is for the front of '32 passenger cars and commercial vehicle and it is 6 5/8" in overall length. The lower arm in the photo is for the '32 rear shocks and it is 8 3/8" in overall length. The links on the left in the photo connect the ball end of the shock arms to the axles.

Pete,

With respect, those are Model A shock arms. The '32 versions lack the shoulder behind the ball.

Thank You, this is very helpful in finding the right arms. I do have David’s books and I think I reread chapter 10 several times but did not see the additional information provided above - especially the length of the front and back arm. .

Re: 1932 shock arms

You actually don't need the measurements as no other shock arms before or after the 1932 model year have the same exact appearance.

I'm with David, the shape of 32 arms (in detail) is a one year only deal . . .

Re: 1932 shock arms

So much of 1932 is "one year only".
