Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission I have a 4 speed transmission that I believe started it life in a ford 150 truck. It was adapted to fit a Model A. I am searching for a part number for the clutch disc. The hub of the Model A clutch disc is too large. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Re: Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission The disc that fits the 1984 - 1987 F150 truck will not work in the Model A adaption. Disc to large diameter.
I ordered and received one that will work last month. It is installed now. Part number D923. Ordered thru Auto Zone. Clutch disc fits the 1969 Ford Falcon with a 200 cu in engine. |
Re: Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission The F 150's had n 11" disc where mine is 9". Thanks for responding.

Re: Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission I am off too Auto Zone to place an order. I assume you have the converted F 150 Transmission as I do. Easy to drive with it but a little tough on some hills.
Thanks for your response. Bob |
Re: Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission Go to your locate parts store and get a clutch out of a 1986 T-Bird with the 4 cylinder turbo engine. The clutch is 9" with the correct 1 1/16" x 10 spline.

Re: Clutch disk - 4 speed transmission This is great information guys. My local NAPA store has one counter clerk that knows about parts. I have a streetrod, that I did not engineer. The original builder died. Sometimes finding the right part is like a treasure hunt. I have helped myself more than anything, or any one else. That one good counter person is not too bad, but I have to point him in a direction.
AutoZone is a complete joke as far as parts knowledge. Advance is not too bad if I get one guy. He does at least try. |
