Need help figuring out Model T

First, I am a Model A guy, do not know much about the T's. Second, posting this for a friend, who also is a Model A guy, not a T guy.

He had this car 'follow' him home the other day, and is trying to figure out what is what on it. We believe it to be a 1918. This car was modified by previous owner(s).

The first two pics are of the car itself.

The third pic looks to be a shifter, with 3-positions. High, Neutral and Low? I thought High and Low was dependent on where the parking brake was positioned and what pedal you were pressing.

The rest of the pics show a copper line that is running from the front passenger side of the engine and goes back to the transmission. Then there is another copper line that runs from the transmission, and goes to the front of the engine, possibly on the timing gear?

Hopefully the pics are clear enough for you to see. Let me know what you think.

The transmission is a aftermarket aux which if it has three detents, it is a under, straight and over. The line from the mag post to the front is an aftermarket oil line to add more oil to the front of the pan. I'm not sure about the one on top of the trans, it may be another oil line to add oil to the front of the engine.

The shifter, with the 3 positions, is a straight pattern, no side to side motion.

I know hard to tell without seeing it, but would the parking brake still have a hi/low position as well?

The lever on the left is both a control lever and a parking brake in unmodified model T drive systems. It aids in the two speed transmission function and provides both clutch and braking actions. An add on auxiliary transmission is most effective as an overdrive for an extra final drive ratio. Added braking function is highly advised with the increased speed capability.

The main transmission would operate as usual regardless of where the aux tranny is. Left peddle all the way down is low, halfway up is neutral and all the way up is high. Think of the aux tranny as a way of adjusting the final drive ratio. The underdrive position would be useful in hilly areas where you may be able to keep it in high gear, whereas a T without the aux tranny would likely have to be held in low to take the hill. The overdrive position would be useful on flat ground for high speed operation to reduce the RPMs on the engine. The straight drive position would be for normal use.

The lines and fitting with the arrows are added oil lines to move oil to front of engine in addition to the one in the engine. The one on the transmission cover door should be enough but with the extra one on the top of the hogs head at the contact, just adds a little extra.

Just pointing out the value of the extra oil lines.
When climbing long or steep upgrades, The engine slows causing the splash of oil lubrication to be diminished. The front main will then be over heated, and worn.
