Tire valve accessories 3 Attachment(s)
N'Abend,
who knows this tool? Are slipped over tire valves. What is the point of the devices? |
Re: Tire valve accessories Is it a tool to hold the rubber valve stem in the rim hole while mounting the tire? Otherwise, the valve stem can easily slip back inside the rim before airing up the mounted tire.

Re: Tire valve accessories Mike,
thank you for your hint. I don't think this is a workshop tool. It's built too fragile for that and doesn't have a good grip. The top cap is detachable. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/data:...AAAElFTkSuQmCC |
Re: Tire valve accessories [QUOTE=Werner;2224849]Mike,
thank you for your hint. I don't think this is a workshop tool. It's built too fragile for that and doesn't have a good grip. The top cap is detachable. Werner, Can you show how it looks inside the cap and where it fits in your part? In the bottom it looks like four collet fingers or grippers, are there supposed to be two more sections that might have broken off. Do the grippers have concentric groves or are they like a thread? Does the cap operate the grippers or do you turn the knurled section? Any markings other than Push/ pull? |
Re: Tire valve accessories The grooves of the four gripping arms are concentric.
The lid is plugged in. When I pull on the upper sleeve, the grippers spread. If I push in, they grip tight. There are no other markings. I suspect that it could be a protective sleeve for the tire tube socket? |

izze, that one looks as if it is a screw on style. When I enlarge the Photograph, I don't see the top part that can be pushed or pulled. I may be missing something as it is hard to tell once enlarged big enough. You didn't happen to remove it for a closer look? Just a knotty thought that came to mind. |
