There was a thread started about 2 weeks ago that would probably answer 98% of your questions.

The Eelebrock carb is a 500cfm unit, and you didn't give us any information on the engine mods. The 390 is avery good street carb, but the WCFB is probably the best choice, if you can find one is good working order.

I believe the 94 to be the better of the two in original form. I would opt for the Edelbrock, I have heard of problems with new 9 super 7's

I purchased 2 of the new Edelbrock 94's for use on the 59A I am installing in my '36 sedan. My problem was linkage. The stock '36 linkage comes off the firewall on the right (passenger) side. The Edelbrock throttle shafts are on the left (driver) side, with idle adjustment and choke controls on the right - and no room to put anything else. At the suggestion of my friends at Honest Charley I ran a Lokar cable around the front of the engine and now pull the throttle shafts on the left side from the front. I fabricated the cable brackets myself and it works.

Thanks Mike Goodman.

thanks guys.......ron, the carbs will be going on a 8EA with a mercery crank and a mild street cam. the intake is a fenton for 2 carbs. the engine is fresh and i have not gotten to the point to fire it up yet. i am thinking edelbrock after what i have read with the help from pete on the posts 3 weeks ago......thanks so much guys with your help. i am fixing up an old F1 pickup that was rotting in a field, she is looking pretty good so far, and i might get her on the road by this fall.

Re: Edelbrock carb.

Kendall,
There are lots of challenges with the 9 super 7. The new
Edelbrock carbs are listed at $349 each and present a throttle hook
up problem that is fixable to be sure but that adds $$$. Think about
a pair of real 94's rebuilt the way you want for just a bit more than
one Edelbrock newbe. The Edels will need to be setup and once you
touch a screw on either one you own them period.
