Wiring Harness

4 Attachment(s)
Gents, I’m finally picking up a roadster that’s been on hold for quite some time. It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen it last butI do know it will require new wiring. Looking to start gathering what I’ll need.

Can I ask who you would suggest contacting for a new one that is better than not? Is there anyone I should or should not deal with?

I’m new to the Model A world and want to deal with good people.

First, WELCOME to the Gang here on the "BARN"!

As to your question, I think you need to consider if you will be putting directionals on the car. If so, there are wiring harnesses made that have the wiring included!

I would think, Brattons, Snyders, or Berts would be a place to start for the harness.

I just bought one from Bratton's it has the correct terminals for the headlights. I'm told CA Vintage Ford also makes a good harness but they are in the process of moving right now.

If your Roadster has the early light system (single bulb) you will want to contact Sacramento Vintage. They make the most accurate and correct looms for that application.

You have a 30-31 steering wheel and light switch lever on a 28-29 car. No biggie to me, nice car !

Do you know if there is a difference with the light switch levers from 28-29 to 30-31? Wondering if I order one for a 28-29 will it not work correctly with the light switch lever I have.

Re: Wiring Harness

The steering column and gear box are different 28-29 to 30-31. The light switch and rod are different lengths, and therefore not just interchangeable. Look in one of the vendor catalogues and you will see that there are different ones. The wheel and switch in that car is a 30-31.
