Anybody have any information on the Annual Sharon Model A Day? Hearing rumors that it is moving to Clinton WI.


Searching on the web, see nothing posted for this year yet. Anybody have information?

They have been posting the flier on various Model A Facebook pages the past day or so.

Yes, it has moved to Clinton but no reasons provided.

Same here I remain unaffiliated with FB.

Thanks for the info. Looked up on a Wisconsin map and Clinton isn't that far from Sharon so I will make plans on going to it.

Sharon was always a lot of fun and a neat setting. Oh well, changes.

It was mentioned on Facebook that the event had outgrown Sharon and that's why they made the move to Clinton.

It is only 3 more minutes for me so not a deal breaker.

Maybe we should start a New Thread titled Clinton Model A Day and close down this one to prevent confusion. The annual Model A Day hosted by the RockFord A’s Model A Club of RockFord, IL held a Model A Day for over ten years at the Midway Village Museum until their management got greedy and wanted a bunch of money to be there. (Even though we were always their biggest attraction even over their WWII and Civil War Reinactments.). The Village of Sharon, WI then welcomed us the to hold our Annual Model A there. We did have a great time there for 25 years. Appearances by FDR, Bootleggers, Bank Robbers, Charleston Dancers, Pig Roasts, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the numerous beautiful Model As coming in from several states. Plenty of cars to peruse for sure.

But due to several factors, it has been determined to move the RFAs Annual Model A Day to the next Village over, the Village of Clinton, WI. This year and for all of the future MAD events. It should be even bigger and better with more facilities, restaurants, bars, etc…. To make your outing with us even more enjoyable.

Please get the word out to all as we would hate to see you all by yourself in Sharon that morning instead of in Clinton, WI. Remember it is always the first Sunday in June and it never rains on Model A Day……. Thank you.

What I like the most about Sharon, Wi.
Of course, Model A days was always awesome.
Upon arrival, the first thing to do was to stand up straight. Facing north. Then bend forward, grab our butt cheeks and fart in the general direction of Illinois.
Didn't really accomplish much, but it sure felt good.
BTW, I'm from Illinois, and that's all I've got to say about that.

I've always wondered, and maybe someone from Rockford A's can answer, if this is a single day event, why is the event listed as "Days"? Future expansion?

Dave where specifically (Street names) will the Model A's be gathered? Will there be a spot to unload a car from a trailer?

Typo. Sorry. It's called Model A Day.

Sorry for confusion but it is just being held on one day. As always it is the first Sunday in June which is June 4, 2023.

New volunteers in Clinton, WI did the poster and artwork and it is a typo that slipped by and was printed that way. Opps!,, But remember, It Never Rains On Model A Day……,,

Dave and I just talked about where to park car trailers, etc.
Downtown Clinton is Allen Street. We will have the downtown all to ourselves, like it was in Sharon. Model A parking only.
At this point, everything else is still in flux, so to speak. There is a gravel parking lot on Hwy 140 adjacent to the railroad tracks, easy access, and only a block from downtown. That would be a good place for car trailers.
We will have another meeting Model A Day planning on March 19. We will work up a Clinton street map indicating where everything will be located on the day of.
Jon: Thanks for the question about trailer parking. Hope to see you in Clinton on June, 4. One of us will post a Clinton street map for the event on Ford Barn in a couple weeks. Looking forward to seeing lots of Model A's in Clinton on June. 4, 2023.

FYI. It Never Rains on Model A Day…. I have heard this since the Rock-Ford A’s first held MAD around 30 years ago and it seems to be more accurate than any Groundhog….
