Convertible rear window install-DIY or pro? Found a correct rear window for my 38 convertible sedan.
My rear window top canvas is uncut. Has anyone had success DIY installation of a rear window on a convertible? Or is this best left to a pro? As always, thank you in advance! Steve |
Re: Convertible rear window install-DIY or pro? Seek a copy of LeBaron Bonney's instructions for installation of a top on a '38, follow those, and you will do fine. I've done it multiple times and it's straightforward if you follow their instructions. They may be gone, but their excellent information lives on.

Re: Convertible rear window install-DIY or pro? You don't get a second attempt if something goes wrong.
Being a cautious type I would have a competent upholstery shop do it for you. Good luck. SwoopNZ. |
Re: Convertible rear window install-DIY or pro? As for LeBaron Bonney instructions, ask around as all you need is a copy from someone who has done one and still has the instructions. They are generally half a dozen 8 1/2" x 11" pages or less. Of course that sage advice applies throughout the process, "measure twice" only make it four times.
