At least it has a ford engine in it !

Just about to purchase my dream car ( apart from my 34)
I've lusted after one of these (Sunbeam Tiger) since I brought my Sunbeam Alpine (same body shell but much less go ) as a fresh faced 19 year old . Is fitted with a slightly tired but original 260 Ford V8 which I will rebuild Karl

Great looking car, I love those Tigers. Don’t put a trailer hitch on the back bumper, they aren’t held onto the body very well.:)

Congratulations; a thoroughly fun car.

My friend has had a few of these over the years. I like how there is a special casting to snake the lower hose around the steering.

I came very close to buying a Sunbeam Tiger back in the mid 60's, but wound up buying this Pontiac GTO instead....
Please don't judge me too harshly for this :D :D ;) ;)

Congratulations on your dream
I must admit to having fantasies about a Tiger in my future, many decades past
.
Hey JM 35 That there is as beautiful an example from Pontiac as I would expect from you.
The one time I was left alone with one will always remain with me.

When I had my 50 Ford, my 1st car, a neighbor got a Sunbeam. I laughed at it till he opened the hood...wow, 260 Ford mill. I heard that someone in Ohio put an 8BA in one, but never saw it. Did see an 8BA in a Falcon though. FLATHEADS FOREVER !

Congrats! Great cars, is it a 260 or 289? The 289 is really a wonderful motor, we have one in our '65 Mustang. Nice that Tigers have the smaller tail fins of the later Alpine bodies

The Tiger looks like a lot of fun, congratulations! The GTO brings back memories. This GTO belonged to a friend Darren [from Aust] who lived and worked in the US, and Canada. While he was there he purchased this 64 GTO and bought it back to Australia. He had to return as the effects of MND were starting to show. He finally made is back home to Northam about an hour and a half from Perth. When my brother would come up to Perth he would visit him and I would hit the country roads in my Cuda and blast there to catch up. We took the GTO out for him as he couldn't drive anymore, it was a little hard as he couldn't support his head with the low back seats. With 5 big guys in the GTO on a straight country road I hit the gas from standing and that car hit 160 [100mph] very quickly and easily! The engine was built to go and the chains on either side of the engine gives it away.. Miss you Daz ; (

Big question is, "Do you still have it?" I still have my '60's car.

I admire friends who've still got the Model A pickup that they learned to drive 80 years ago. I'm a young 68 but have bought and sold many vehicles that I would like to have again. Marriage, children, college tuition took it's toll on my ability to keep them. In some ways I've managed to upgrade along the way and have a tiny collection of pretty cool boy toys. Can't go back, no regrets.

Judging from the reflections in the first photo in #7, the door fit on that Pontiac is typical of Detroit '60s quality or lack of thereof.
