Re: Williams wrench on eBay Probably NOT the much desired "small head" Williams (and others) box wrench that will actually clear the narrow space the GAV is located.

I've been passionate on "Engineers wrenches" for a while now. One remembers the "racks" in the Power Plant Machine shop from 1/4" all the way up to about 5" There was a 7" over in the corner for adjusting the pulverizer springs - but it didn't have a space on the rack. Re: Williams wrench on eBay Thread drift here. B&W "Type D" which had the round brass B&W logo plate on the side. One assumes they were made by subcontractors.
Salem Harbor Station Units 1 & 2 built post WWII. Now replaced by "Footprint Power" which is a natural gas fired combined cycle plant on 1/4th the space. The 7" was a "man-sized" wrench. But used in lieu of the slugging wrenches as it afforded a more "precise" (ha,ha) adjustment of spring tension. Back when men were men - and women were glad of it... (WARNING Sexism Alert.) Joe K |
Re: Williams wrench on eBay Saw that one one on ebay this morning and might have bought but it was already sold. I have purchased 2 of them in the past and for those of you who might be curious: you usually have to grind a little material from the wrench for it to fit but they sure work great, a whole lot better than an 11mm open end wrench.

Re: Williams wrench on eBay I have a special low profile one I use and those are way too thick. Massive grinding to make them work. . They have to fit between the hex and carb body and there is hardly any space there .
Don’t expect them to work without a lot of rework . |
