40 Ford aftermarket headlight door info 2 Attachment(s)
I found several of these old headlight doors with an extra lense at the bottom. Does anyone know the history on them?

Re: 40 Ford aftermarket headlight door info I'm thinking they are aftermarket bulb to sealed beam conversion bezels....

They are most-likely ELECTROLINE brand aftermarket, sealed beam adapters for '37-'39 Fords. Most folks don't have nice things to say about them as they do look kind of cheezy on an old Ford. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...4-png.5248757/ Best use for them that I have ever seen is to stick a clock of appropriate size in 'em. Re: 40 Ford aftermarket headlight door info Not claiming much knowledge on anything '40, I don't think that they look any cheesier than that aftermarket valve cover.....Can't swap that back with a phillips screwdriver either.

Re: 40 Ford aftermarket headlight door info I had them on my 38 std, and I like the look, and I like sealed beam headlights. If you drive at night alot like I do , sealed beams are a wonderful thing even staying with 6v's

Re: 40 Ford aftermarket headlight door info If anyone is looking for a set let me know. I found 4 of them at a little antique mall close to my parents cabin. I have a nice set of chrome headlight doors on my ‘40 and don’t have a use for these.
