Hardware

I am putting together a grill on my 1949 Ford. It came to me in pieces. What kind of hardware is used to put it back together? Thanks

Re: Hardware

My memory from years ago is a mix of small bolts/nuts and sheet metal screws. Do you have a Chassis Parts Manual and a Body Parts Manual for 49 Ford passenger car? Between the two manuals all the fiddly little parts are shown (usually...).

Re: Hardware

Ford's chassis parts catalogs will have at least one illustrated breakdown of the grill assembly depending on years covered. The parts will be listed and the hardware associated with it will be listed below that. The chassis parts catalogs also have a listing of standard hardware in the front matter of the book. A person can find a basic illustration of the fastener type and then sizes are given for each type.
