47 6-Cylinder Choke and Throttle Cable Ends Good morning,
Does anyone know where I could find the spring-loaded ends for choke and throttle cables for G-series 6-cylinder? I need to replace these cables and would like to use new ends as chances are I will destroy the old ones trying to get them off. Thanks. Dale |
Re: 47 6-Cylinder Choke and Throttle Cable Ends Can you post a pic of what you have?

Re: 47 6-Cylinder Choke and Throttle Cable Ends 1 Attachment(s)
I ran into the same problem when I restored my 39 Zephyr. What I done was buy a new accelerator rod with the spring loaded ends on each end. Then I cut the ends of and used one for the choke and the other for the throttle. I attached them to the cables by drilling a small hole just large enough for the cable wire to fit into then squeezed it together in the vise. They worked great. Here’s a photo , maybe it’ll help.

Re: 47 6-Cylinder Choke and Throttle Cable Ends Check with some of the NOS parts guys - Carpenters of Michael Driskel etc. I picked up a pair of NOS G-series choke and throttle cables for my '42 Staff Car a few years back. Shouldn't be too hard to find as they're not a high turnover item.

Re: 47 6-Cylinder Choke and Throttle Cable Ends In my experience, the cables for the same vintage V8 are extremely difficult to source. I cannot imagine that the I6 version would be easier. Your plan to cobble a solution makes sense.
