1946 super deluxe coupe build
 

i am doing a 46 coupe and i keep looking at the grille and i wonder if there are any others on the barn that have modified or customized the 46-48 grilles? i do not have any fixed idea on what i want, just thinking out loud----any pictures would be great. thanks.....

Not sure why you would want to modify the most beautiful grill ever produced by Ford , but, the '48 Oldsmobile grill was a popular switch out.

Nice grills 46 to 48. It was once the rage to remove the top plinth and side bars and fill the holes and paint it the body colour, so you are just left with the stainless for the grill. I don't like that though.

I'm with Graeme and 47 Topless, and love my '47 grill. But I've seen a number of "after market" modern truck grills...both mesh and horizontal bars...that perhaps could be modified to fit to your liking?? Or, maybe you could come up with an original creation using stainless hardware??

Tampering with the grille, or other component of a collectible car will almost always drive (no pun) interest away from value.
