Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold 3 Attachment(s)
Need some help to identify application for the manifolds in the pictures.
Their not quite the same although they dump in the same location. Not 49-51 nor 52-53 car, don't know about truck Number on the one doesn't get me any ID. No markings on the other. |
Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold In as much as these both look like they are meant for the drivers side.
They look like aftermarket parts to allow installation of dual exhaust. As for no markings, probably because they were fabricated by two different manufacturers. (my guess) They would probably work on just about all V8's. Another thought, they might have been part of a 'Police car' package. |
Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold No doubt they are after market parts. Issue of steering box clearance is the concern and yes they would fit any flathead V-8 motor but only in specific vehicles. It's the correct vehicle application that I'm trying to sort out.

Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold '49- '51 Ford passenger car dual side exhaust manifold, aftermarket.
'52- '53 are different. |
Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold These are my after market dual manifolds on my ‘51 Ford. I would guess from different manufacturers. I have another left one that was sold to me as a Ford manifold and it looks identical to my after market one. That only means they used a Ford one for the pattern.....Mark

Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold 1 Attachment(s)
The manifolds in my pictures do not fit 49-51. They would interfere with the steering box. I have 49-51 units and the dump flange is much farther back.
Flatford 8. Does what you show for a LH manifold clear the steering, can't tell from the pictures if exhaust pipe is connected. Here is another picture of how they compare: |
Re: Help ID Dual Exhaust Manifold 1 Attachment(s)
It’s close but it does clear. This car has a T-5 so I made sure of the clearance when I modified the cross member.........Mark
