Starter linkage/Rod

31 Model A. Had one of those steering column levers for actuating starter switch. Part of it broke. Looking for a replacement or was thinking about just going back to foot starter. Car still has foot pedal and linkage that runs parallel to firewall toward starter. When I look for parts, all I see is a straight rod. What am I missing here? Or where can I get replacement parts for lever actuator??

Greg, I am assuming you are speaking of a Fulton Lift-a-Starter, -or something similar? Can you post some pix of yours and what is broken. Those were simple enough someone can probably fab what you need.

I’ll take a couple pics and post. In the mean time, can someone post a pic of what the connection at starter looks like with a regular pedal?

This one is just starter actuator. That Fulton one is attached to the spark lever. This one is not. How can the normal pedal have a straight rod when it isn’t in line with the starter switch?? This setup had the lever on left side of column and it pushed down on a long rod on right side. I don’t know how to attach pics here.

Sorry for the confusion and my ignorance… certainly the starter foot pedal is lined up to starter. I think I will simply get the correct button and rod. The setup that was on there was more trouble than it’s worth anyhow. Thanks
