Sad news I have sad news for you. John passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at approximately 2 pm at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He had been in and out of the hospital since 2/7/22.
I believe he told you about his medical problems. I was there with him until the end. He died peacefully and in no pain. He had been through a lot and I am glad his suffering is over. I have the support of good friends, neighbors and family. I am glad you were able to go to Bonneville together. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. The hardest part is yet to come. I received this this morning, he was my mentor an friend. I will miss him deeply. Go with God, rest in peace, Ol\ Ron |

Re: Sad news John Lawson (JWL) knew more about the combustion cycle than any other person or reference book I ever read, he once told me that the only thing that makes hrsepower is Oxygen. His book "flathead facts" has more useful information in it, than all the rest of them put together. I hope to live long enough to finish the engine I'm building with his intake modifications. I'll miss him.

Re: Sad news Nothing like a good friend. He will be in your heart for ever. He in good hands now. God Bless to both of you.

Re: Sad news Sorry for your loss of friendship Ron. Prayers to his family. Especially sorry not to know him given he seems to have lived close to me……as St Vincent’s is about 7 blocks from my office, 15 blocks from where I grew up so he had to have lived somewhat close to me and being a life long resident here in Jax, and a Flathead “guy” I never heard of him. So sorry!!!

Re: Sad news Quote:
My God, we've lost "JWL"? I wondered about that when Ron first mentioned "John". Those of us that have 'lived' in this Ford Barn Community for any length of time must realize what a tremendous void that losing John means to our little world here, not to mention the Ford Flathead engine world losing a gentleman that sought to expose as many of the old Flatty's secrets as he could. I'm really at a loss for words, friends. Prayers for John, as well as for his family! Coop https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.diPrG_...id=ImgDet&rs=1 . |
Re: Sad news Thanks Coop I appreciate this.

Re: Sad news Sorry for your loss Ron and the loss of knowledge to all of us.
