Thanks Dick |
Re: How to seal the gas tank Have you done a search here ?
The subject is widely covered https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...=Gas+tank+seal |
Re: How to seal the gas tank Do not put any non-metallic coating in your gas tank. These have a propensity to delaminate and clog the plumbing. If you have a leak, take the tank to a radiator shop for repair.

Re: How to seal the gas tank I sloshed the gas tank on our 1929 Sport Coupe about 35 years ago. You have to remove tank from car. Flush the tank as best you can. Than I sloshed the tank following manufactures instructions completely. Waited two days, and sloshed it again.
Buy a quality product from a well known supplier. You must follow the instructions. It’s not hard, and it works. As I mention, 35 years, how much more can I say. No rust in gas line, no leaks around steering column support. I also installed a new Zenith carburetor. These two things did away with any fuel/carburetor issues car had. “Must follow instructions”. Good luck. |
Re: How to seal the gas tank I only use Hirsch. Have had great success with it and it holds up.(white in color and used in aircraft)
really better off using no sealer, if you can. |
