Burtz Engine

I am looking for a list of dealers who sell the Burtz Engine completely assembled in ready to run condition. Dealers preferably east of the Mississippi River.

Isn't Steve Becker at Bert's a dealer and assembler west and Dave Gerould at Durable Performance in Minneapolis a dealer and assembler in the east?? Both of those guys are Fordbarn contributors that are well respected in their fields

Bob, You are smart and experienced enough to assemble the Burtz block yourself. It is not really that hard. And it is fun. If I can do it, you can do it.

Re: Burtz Engine

Thanks all for your replies. My inquiry is for a friend who needs an engine for his Model "A". The Jersey Mike Model "B" engine I recently put into my Victoria is running wonderful. My wife is now a back seat speed controller with an alarm that kicks-in over 45 MPH. When she wasn't looking, I did it up to 56 MPH! This motor has a 6:1 cylinder head and I feel it in the seat of my shorts!

Re: Burtz Engine

LOL Bob! My controller kicks in at a higher speed! My sweet spot is 53 mph with harmonics between 53-56, above that is fine , the controller kicks in about 65

My controller currently kicks in at about 35 mph regardless of where in the car it's placed, but I suspect that will be elevated once I get seat belts installed.

Re: Burtz Engine

My controller knows it is pointless to say anything. When she is driving, I sometimes see triple figures on the GPS in kph). BTW, this is not a standard Model A and at 60+ mph, it is just starting to hum.

Re: Burtz Engine

Since my controller was in our Victoria when the #4 rod poked a hole in the block at 63 MPH, any speed over 45 kicks the buzzer off. However, when the controller dozes-off on a run, I get to go 55 MPH plus!
Big hammer, your controller is really nice.

Re: Burtz Engine

My sweat spot is 53 or less with 26% OD. Between 53-57 it has harmonic vibrations so I need to push through that, mostly drive 53 -50, but can drive 60 + if needed
