4-bangers & me

I occasionally receive a book order from a post that was posted in 2013. I still have books but they have been changed several times, added chapters, color photos, etc. They are now $34 mailed here in the States, $43 to most overseas countries. e-mail [email protected] for info. Thanks, Jim B

Jim’s book is great reading even if you don’t plan to soup up your engine.

Jim's books are great, lots of information and some history of the modern performance pioneers.

I was a teenager in the 50’s. We “souped up” our Fords.

My Dad was from ancient times. They souped up their Ford's then also.

Our “ancient times” were great. We had three inactive WWII B29 bases within 60 miles of our local B29 base that we were able to use for monthly drag races. I was at the first NHRA National Drag Race. That’s why I was inspired by Jim’s book.

Yup, there were a few deactivated War 1 bases they raced on back then.
There were many War 2 bases we raced on after that one.
There most likely won't be any people or cars to race after the next one...lol

Probably the fastest growing segment of the model A hobby is bangers and Jim’s work is a big part of it.

It will be interesting to see what the inovators come up with in the future. 4 bangers will exceed the speeds of the current V8's and still meet the current rules. There will have to be rules interpretations aplenty.

Thanks guys, for all the good words! Believe it or don't, I ran for top eliminator one day at the San Fernando strip, me, 2 bikes and a coupe of some sort. I was the slowest of the group so of course lost, but it was still fun! With a lot of help from friends, we plan on running my Cook in the 4 ever 4 Club's lakester at Bonneville in August.
