My Speedometer stop working A wile back there was a person that had 32 Speedometer for sale. I should have bought one. My Speedometer did jump around and I though it was a dry cable. I lube it and that did not work then I lube the Speedometer and that did not help. It needs rebuilt. It finally locked up? I guess back to the drawing board. It even broke the cable also. I have not drove this 32 very much. It does run very nice on the road. Next week I am going to have the Brake Drumb turn and the Brake Shoes arch to fit the Drumb and the that should give me a better brake.

Re: My Speedometer stop working Try searching here for ‘papanick'. He redid a speedo for me and did nice work.

Re: My Speedometer stop working Hard to find a place to turn rear brake drums! Most shops with a drum lathe do not have a proper arbor to mount the rear drum.

Check the speedometer turtle on the front of the drive shaft tube and make sure that is good before you condemn your speedometer. It could be the grease in it got dry and hard from sitting and the gear stripped. Just a thought, as that is what happened on my Mercury. |

Re: My Speedometer stop working I have a friend that has a brake machine for drum. Plus a machine to arch the brake shoes to fit each drum. This will give me a nice firm brake.
