37 3 window coupe

I need some help. I am considering purchasing a 1937 all steel 3 window coupe. I can find nowhere that says Ford made any but the seller insist there are 11 know to exist. Does anyone have any info on this. It would be appreciated. I was in search of a 36 3 window when I ran across this one

Hmmm... I'd demand that this claim of his be proven.

If Ford made a 3 window coupe in '37, I would probably have one! !936 was the last year for that body style. Are you sure this is a steel body car you are considering? _ F F

Anybody that would paint an early Ford like that wouldn't be above counterfeiting one.

Also, the name "Minotti" comes to mind.

Re: 37 3 window coupe

If it's a steel car someone did some very creative body work. The seller is full of BS that Ford made this body. I'll bet they tell you that Ford even put the recessed license plate in the trunk lid! Just curious where you saw this advertised and is it being sold by an auto broker?

Bill, Be wary. Sounds like you are about to be scammed re: 37 3 window coupe.

Yes, they were made but not by Henry Ford. Look here:

That would be an easy creation by a GOOD bodyman. I vote scam artist with made up story. I wouldn't be surprised if there were 10 or 12 of these made up creations running around. After completing several Ron Covell classes over the past few years, hell even I could do it.

The 1936 3 window body style is 68-720. In 1937, Ford used the body style 720 for the new Club Coupe model, 78-720. I don't believe the story either.

Re: 37 3 window coupe

Thanks for all the response. I’ve seen 36 5 window coupes turned into 3 windows so I suspect this has had the same treatment. Nice car but not worth the 60k asking price. I saw the car on Facebook group 35,36,37,38,39 Fords

NEVER say "NEVER" when it comes to old Fords. I found this picture years ago, somewhere! It is obviously NOT an American '37, considering the right hand drive, the funny fender lights, and likely the license plate. My money would be on German. Note old hooptie on far side of pasture. Also note the "V'd", two piece windshield (unlike a '36). Coop
