Leaf spring bushings for '49 custom

So I just went to install my new bushings into my Jamco 4" drop leaf Springs and they're waaaaay too small. I know a ton of people run their springs (i tried them in my original springs and it's the same thing) so what are you guys doing to make them work? I figure i have a 1/1000 chance of finding a set of NOS bushings. I just want to get this car on all 4 tires and it seems like every time I think I have a chance something else goes wrong haha

It sounds like you have the wrong bushings. "Shoebox Central" has them for $1.95. I doubt that they carry the wrong ones.

Define waaaaay too small using what you have as measurements.
Seem to recall having to press them in.

Guess I'd give the boys at Shoebox Central a call.

Sounds as though you received a rear shackle bushing and not a front bushing.

They're not the same bushings on both ends? The eyes are all the same size on the new springs and the old springs

I am probably wrong and thinking of later with larger front eye. I was thinking of the type that has inner and outer metal sleeve that needs to be installed with a press. They were on the front of spring only.

These are just the two rubber halves with no center sleeve. It's really a terrible design

I've run poly-nylon spring bushings before. Worked well. Been a bit but I can't remember them running the full 2" of the spring. Could be wrong...

Ordered a front stabilizer bar for my old 53 from fatman fab. No mention you have to cut up your grill valiance. Most everything else worked from them.

Nothing is more frustrating then a dead line and nothing works.

You mean the poly bushings the vendors sell instead of rubber? I'd definitely run those if they'll work.

I checked out you hamb post.

Seems to be a lot of slop in the rubber bushings to your leaf spring eyes.

I'd trust the poly's over rubber everytime, over time. No comment on fit.
