Been hanging around long time. Learned a lot just reading. But now I need to know anyone have or still making the Harmon Collins rotor and inside cap? Thanks Mike

Search this forum, a few years ago a guy posting here made some. I got 2 rotors and 2 inside caps from him. I don't recall his handle. They were not inexpensive.

I distinctly remember that guy. I'm 110% confident that he is no longer making those pieces, as I had posted his name and contact at an earlier time, and he politely, yet firmly, requested that I no longer post any info on his behalf. So...I guess the answer is NOT READILY AVAILABLE! DD

The guy (Joe) died about 1 1/2 years ago!! His Ford Barn name was Dzus. He sold the rotors on Ebay for awhile, plus the folks here that contacted him.

Yes it was Joe. Sorry to hear he passed away. Dang, I wonder what happened to his molds and tooling? Last time I talked to him he was trying to get the right shade of yellow for the cap. Mine are black.

Re: HC rotor

He had nice molds and tooling - they were spot on. He also found that it was a bit of science and art - to get the mid-caps to correctly cool and not end up with cracks or imperfections that caused the high-voltage side to run to ground. This is the same issues I have with original parts - have to play a lot of games with the mid-plates to get the second 4 cylinders to correctly fire. Running solid-core wires helps, but there are quite a few other things I've had to do. Just the way it goes with these old HC distributors.

A potential source that was not suggested is Pat Mason, Mason Racing Ignitions, Ottsvile PA. Pat was previously the manager of Vertex, and I bought one of the reproduction H&C Rotors from him. He may still have some stock.
