Part ID please - Flathead Motor Mount 2 Attachment(s)
I know that this is a flathead front mount which bolts to the front of the block like the typical '32 V8 mount, but the horizontal leg is much shorter. did this part have an automotive application or was it strictly industrial or marine?

They are very early '33's.Here are pics of an orig brochure showing a display cutaway '33 engine and chassis.2nd pic - you can see the right motor mount which matches the OP pic.

Re: Part ID please - Flathead Motor Mount Thank you @deuce lover, I did not realize that the early '33's used this type of mount.
|
Re: Part ID please - Flathead Motor Mount They were used with the initial '33 front cross member which retained the 12" spacing of front motor mount insulators and the separate water inlets from the '32s. Their use was short lived as the insulator spacing was increased to 17" along with a new front cross member and cast one-piece combined water inlet-motor mount brackets.

Re: Part ID please - Flathead Motor Mount Coopman is not in bed yet? What do you think of the 2nd gear jump saga?

I have the initial '33 front cross member, but I'm missing the LH front motor mount. Anyone holding a LH mount and willing to part with it? I have two RH mounts so a trade is also possible. |

I'm surely not a Ford 3-speed x-pert, but looking at MVP's pictures, I don't see a problem. Of course, we cannot see the two forks, nor their relationship to the sliders to tell anything about being either wrong, or bent, or just installed cross-assed. We'll hopefully see! DD Ah, now this new picture may tell a different story! https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1644372786 . |
