1942-1948 Mercury Steering Wheel Differences Does anyone know the differences in 1942-1948 Mercury steering wheels? Some have stainless bands on the horizontal shaft in the center of the steering wheel and some are plain and resemble a 1946-1948 Ford.
Also, the horn buttons are different colors. Anyone know what years are which? Looking to collect 1941-1948 Mercury steering wheels, horn rings, and horn buttons (Canadian too). I'm interested to know the differences for each year. |

Australian 1948 Mercury Dash & Steering Wheel. Note that all RHD Fords and Mercurys up until 1948 used the respective 1941 Dash, to save production costs of developing the new 42 style Dash when the original 41 Dash would do. |

Imported 1946 Mercury showing the Dash and Steering Wheel. The new owner has converted the correct LHD Dash to RHD, a tough exercise. |
