FNG 35 Pickup

3 Attachment(s)
Hi all, new guy here. I’ve got a long term project of a 35 pickup. Already found some great stuff on here so I really appreciate the info passed around. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of dumb questions to come.

The truck is in pretty good shape, only real rusted out areas are the windshield frame (I’ll have to get a new one) and the bottom back side of the cab, which I hear is pretty normal. The engine is frozen, and I know the transmission isn’t the original (s/n) doesn’t match frame.

Anyways good to be here, thanks again!

Nice project.I much prefer the '35 front end (grille)compared to the '36.

Your cab appears to be the early 35 cab with the garnish molding doors. Good luck with your project.

I like it too! Welcome to the fold. Looks like you will be looking for a pickup box. Over the years I have bought two very nice ford boxes with fenders from the 'trailer' section on craigslist. They have the advantage that you can hook it on your bumper and head home. Be careful, your wife will want to fill it up at the second hand and antique stores on your return trip. Nice TRUCK!

Trucks are COOL. if you can, go to the Turlock swap meet last weekend of January and you may find some essential parts. The hunt is on!!!!!

That’s a great question! I’m in process of tear down right now and making an inventory of what I have and what I need.

Luckily I’m not in any kind of hurry, so I’ll definitely check Craigslist for trailers.

I didn’t know about the swap meet and we were planning a trip down to Yosemite soon anyway so that might workout great!

It’s a military term for “Freaking New Guy” but there are other not so family friendly versions. Basically for people prone to asking a lot of dumb questions right off the bat. Ha.

Good luck with your "new project"!! You have some good things to work with your '35. It took me many years to get my '34 to where it is today. Take your time and do not rush, it will be fun and the end result will be worth all the hard work!!

Passenger car w/s frame is different. I have a truck w/s frame but shipping to ME from GA might be a little expensive.
