Having sticky braking on my 49 with power brakes. Haven't taken it for a drive except for driving on the lift to work on it. What could be causing that?

Re: Sticky brakes

If the shoes are not retracting, or retracting slowly, could be the flexible brake hose going to the wheel cylinders (front). With age they can collapse internally and act like a one-way valve.

If I tap the brakes lightly they might lock up

Re: Sticky brakes

Piston in master cylinder not returning far enough to uncover port in master will lock them up. When they are locked if you crack a bleeder does that unlock them

I believe he is saying that just a short, light pressure on pedal CAN lock 'em up! DD
