Roll a 40 with no tranny?

I am removing my transmission and sending it to VanPelt today. Can I secure the engine with a large ratchet strap to the front banjo arms, reconnect the spring and differential to the frame and roll the car to another building I have? Does the front of the torque tube/driveline need to be supported? Thanks.

The front of the torque tube tends to rise with the car's weight on the rear spring. As long as the floor is in place it will restrain the torque tube.
Common sense ought to allow you to support the back of the motor.

I would err on the side of caution and put support on both ends. That torque tube is a long arm and subject to the laws of physics. Support the arm and reduce the strain on the rear spring and cross member.

You could tie the front of the torque tube to the X member that the point where the torque tube fits thru the x member. Wrap it with lots of rags so it won't flop around and hit bottom of car.

Bolt a 2x4 across the rear of the engine so that it can rest on the frame rails.

That makes sense. I’m only pushing/towing it 150’, very slowly.

Just remember the engine wants to come down and the torque tube will want to go up.

The engine will be secure before I move it. I don’t need any issues.

The torque tube can't go too far as the floor will keep it somewhat restrained within perhaps 3" of travel. Hardly a concern.
I have placed a 2" x 4" between the wishbones as has already been suggested. Works fine....
