Motor seized Have a 1931 Model A that sat for 20 years. It was running fine before it was stored. Tried to manually turn the motor over with the hand crank and it won't move. Suggestions?

Re: Motor seized Hopefully it’s in the car and clutch isn’t stuck . Put in third gear and rock it forward and backwards
Most folks brew up 50~50 mixture and drop into spark plug hole . Is there oil in the pan o thick as hell She may break free , I’ve also pulled them with tow rope with other car |
Re: Motor seized One last trick
I’ve put a Electric cooking element under the engine on low and keep it on until the head feel warm and then start to rock her in gear Don’t burn the place down please These old Irons have memory , last time she ran it was warm LOL |
Re: Motor seized What is the 50/50 mixture? I've been told transmission fluid and diesel fuel

Re: Motor seized I used ATF/MMO.

Re: Motor seized Check the water pump. They can seize up too. Valves can stick and cause blockage of cam movement. Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders can help loosen things up. Be prepared to dump what oil is in the pan and reservice it after it frees up. The MMO works its way through the rings and down into the pan.

Re: Motor seized Snyders sells a tool that replaces the starter and is turned with a socket and breaker bar. I have used this tool on the most seriously stuck engines with much sucess. By removing the starter you will know if it is the bendix locked on the ring gear also.
