Gas bowl Q… Did model As all have just ONE size glass fuel bowl. Or was there different sizes for different years ?
I have a broken 1929 bowl. I guess all bowls are same….except for length. |
Re: Gas bowl Q… Well yes, only one size for the glass ones originally. But who knows with all of the aftermarket parts over the years.
But do understand they were only a production option for a time in 1929. The rest of the years utilized a cast iron sediment bulb that eventually moved to the carburetor. |
Re: Gas bowl Q… I thought they were the same, including length. But, anything could have happened over the years as chrs mentioned.
Mine is clear [ '31 ] which I like. |
Re: Gas bowl Q… also, be aware that lots of 50's and 60's tractors used glass fuel bowls of differing sizes.
I had a '53 Farmall Cub with a glass bowl and also a '62 Massey-Ferguson with a glass fuel bowl, so be aware there are lots of different size glass fuel bowls out there. This is an item that is probably best sourced from Brattons or Snyders to ensure the correct size. Also, the cork gasket seals better than the neoprene gasket. |

The glass one that I had that broke, was maybe 2” in length ! I located a glass bowl in my junk pile that is about 11/2” long. Put it on… seems to do the job, that is… holding gas. Thanks |
Re: Gas bowl Q… From memory, the gasket surface was a standard size but there was different lengths.

Re: Gas bowl Q… I carry a new glass bowl in my trunk, just in case that I might be on the side of the road cleaning it out or whatever and it slips out of my hands and it breaks.
